THE IMPORTANCE OF ENCOURAGEMENT

Sometimes life can overwhelm us with pain and in this case encouragement can help us to overcome it and move forward. Without encouragement, we feel unloved. It is important to remember that incentives are non-judgmental.

Expressions such as “You really worked hard” or “I bet you’re proud to have finished this entire book” are examples of non-judgmental encouragement. We tend to develop stronger personal motivation and pride in our work when incentives focus on what is positive.

INCENTIVES FOCUS ON EFFORT.

They allow a person to learn to self-evaluate on his or her own merits without comparing his or her effort and successes to those of others. Encouraged we understand that our judgment of ourselves is more important than that of others. When a person is going to learn a new language, he or she should not be compared to another individual, but should be shown all the skills he or she has acquired while working.

POSITIVITY AFFECTS OUR BRAIN

Positive emotions generally work in opposite ways to negative emotions. All emotions such as fear, anxiety, stress or anger reduce our concentration and decrease our cognitive abilities, where positive emotions can do the opposite.

When we feel happy and optimistic, we are more likely to have a welcoming orientation than a self-centered attitude and better cognitive performance.

POSITIVE COMMUNICATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT AT WORK

The way leaders use positivity when communicating with employees can have a huge impact on their well-being and performance. A leader’s emotional state can rub off on employees. Discussions that focus on the negative are more likely to increase feelings of guilt, fear and anxiety. So when more optimistic, it could improve the work environment and help them to be better coordinated and more effective. For example, talking about positive goals and dreams can be a way to encourage employees.

TWO IMPORTANT POINTS ARE LISTENING AND EMPATHY

Showing empathy to your employees helps them develop a certain stability at work. They may then feel more confident to take risks. This can lead to more creativity and better problem solving within a team.

Listening to your employees helps them to relieve their negative feelings and release tensions. Spreading anxiety or frustration can hinder an employee’s performance.

Remember that every positive comment helps a person move forward. Your words matter to others and so does your attitude. Being encouraged and encouraged in return is necessary to have a healthy and positive relationship. So don’t wait any longer, encourage your family and friends.
